REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum a degree in Psychology or related discipline.
  • Possess at least two (2) years of experience working with offenders and ex-offenders will be an advantage.
  • Certified Substance Addiction Counsellor (CSAC) with Association of Professional Addiction Counsellor (APSAC) or those trained in Motivational interviewing and/or Windows on Addiction will be given priority.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in English and one other local language and maturity to work with families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • This position is on a 1-year contract basis.

Responsibilities

As an Associate Psychologist with RCD, you will be providing vital counselling and case work support for clients dealing with addiction issues and their family members who are impacted by addiction. You will coordinate with authorities and community partners to ensure that clients receive the resources and services they need to succeed.

  • You will provide information and referral services for offenders, ex-offenders, and their next of kin on addiction issues.
  • You will conduct risk assessment, social investigation, case formulation, and intervention planning as part of the counselling and case management service.
  • You will deliver face-to-face individual and group counselling, as well as workshops for offenders, ex-offenders, and their next of kin on addiction issues.
  • Your will prepare and submit reports and case recordings in a timely manner.
  • You will coordinate and liaise with stakeholders to ensure all related matters are followed up and resolved.
