With panoramic views of the D.C. skyline and a legacy of hospitality spanning more than a century, WGCC offers an extraordinary member and guest experience- and we're looking for an Associate Tennis Professional to join our team! The Associate Tennis Professional will be responsible for assisting the Director of Racquets and/or the Assistant Director of Racquets to develop racquet programs, activities and instruction that meet the needs of the membership. Also responsible to work alongside other staff members in order to teach, promote and ensure the quality of all racquets programs at WGCC while behaving as a racquets professional Responsibilities: Assist in managing operations at the tennis facility when the Director of Racquets and/or Assistant Director of Racquets are not on the premises Assist in scheduling all activities and instructional programs for the Club Ensure that each racquet request is completed in high quality manner and within 48 hours while properly recording and billing this information into the computer Properly record and maintain records in the record book of private and group lessons and bill before the end of the day Record all permanent lessons in the reservation system at least four weeks in advance Assist the Assistant Director of Racquets and prepare a general lesson plan for the entire camp and/or clinic before the first session Assist in the development of a detailed lesson plan before each session while thoroughly training all new assistants to ensure quality teaching in group and/or private lessons Be present in Pro Shop to assist members or aid in any other administrative duties when not teaching in order to provide optimum customer service; therefore, assuring members of the best experience possible Return phone calls/ emails in a timely manner but in no event longer than 24 hours Strive to upgrade professional rating and to increase the quality of teaching by maintaining close ties with either the U.S.P.T.A. or U.S.P.T.R. Punctuality for all lessons, team practices, social events, and meetings (presence for the duration of all lessons, clinics and team practices is required) Other duties as assigned Requirements High school diploma or GED; equivalent to a 4-year college degree preferred 2+ years commensurate experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified Certified by the U.S.P.T.A. or U.S.P.T.R. Ability to bill on Jonas software Knowledge of court maintenance and mechanics of all strokes in tennis Willingness and ability to teach players of all levels Ability to play tennis at 4.5 N.T.P.R. rating Adept at all aspects of Window’s environment and excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite as well as inventory software Ability to maintain quality and safety standards Demonstrated organization and coordination skills Excellent attendance and punctuality Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills to a wide variety of constituents Excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service Physical Demands and Work Environment Must be able to sit, walk, squat, kneel, crawl, reach, bend, stoop, twist, stand, climb, clean and lift up to 40 pounds Must be able to handle hot and cold interior and exterior conditions and exposure to dust Must be able to handle proximity to moving machinery and working from heights Independent mobility
Responsibilities
The Associate Tennis Professional assists the Director and Assistant Director of Racquets in developing, teaching, and ensuring the quality of all racquet programs and instruction to meet member needs. This includes assisting with facility operations, scheduling activities, managing lesson records, and providing direct instruction.
