Job Description What is the opportunity? As an Associate on the Ratings and Monitoring team, you will be responsible for assessing credit ratings of Capital Markets borrowers, verifying covenant compliance, monitoring company and industry developments and identifying key risk events. The role will require you to develop industry expertise and collaborate with internal stakeholders across several sectors of the Business; including Adjudication, Corporate Banking, Global Credit and other Capital Markets areas. What will you do? For the assigned portfolio, you will be responsible for: Managing and monitoring credit risk of a portfolio of corporate Borrowers in various sectors such as Mining, Forestry, Building Materials, Contractors, Retail - tasks include identifying key credit events, reviewing / refreshing credit risk ratings at a minimum on an annual basis; Participate in team deliverable targets with respect to regulatory / audit requests; Ensure borrower’s compliance of terms and conditions of credit agreement; Develop expertise in assigned portfolio, policies and guidelines, and provide value added advice to internal partners; Conduct research, analyze financial statements and develop financial projections; and Collaborate cross-teams and with our business partners. Must-Have: At least 2 years of experience in credit risk and/or financial analysis Self-motivated with a combination of strong credit and analytical skills Ability to critically assess financial statements and other client reports and draw reasoned conclusions Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively within a team environment. High degree of computer literacy: MS Office Suite, database software, and electronic tools for on-line research Nice-To-Have: Academic background with a Master’s level accreditation: usually an MBA, CFA, CPA or other professional designation Experience with S&P, Capital IQ, Moody’s What’s in it for you?
