This role involves working closely and collaboratively with the lead CI and Co-CIs to conduct high-quality research and contribute to scholarship and creative activities which generate high impact outputs and deliverables over the course of the three-year project, with mentorship from leaders within the research team. The position requires a combination of critical and creative research expertise, advanced project management skills, and current experience working with communities in deeply relational and reciprocal ways. It is expected that the Research Associate (Level A) will work with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience develop. As an Associate Research Fellow, you will: * Conduct high-quality research, scholarship and creative activities generating high impact outputs, with mentorship * Engage collaboratively to participate in novel and high-quality research or creative activities * Communicate outputs, including as part of team * Ensure impact of academic activity on the field and the community * Support and may lead applications for funding for research and creative activities * Begin building a body of work and reputation and recognition for quality, excellence and impact. To be successful, you’ll have: * PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience. * Demonstrated experience in interdisciplinary research involving education, history, creative practice, and/or decolonial theory. * Emerging research and scholarship through publications, grants, conference contributions and/or creative practice research related to the project focus. * Evidence of conceptual and theoretical expertise working with ethnographic, creative, and/or participatory methods with young people, as informed by decolonial theory and praxis. * Ability and willingness to contribute to and project manage large intergenerational teams including youth researchers, PhD candidates, experienced academics, and industry partners. * Excellent interpersonal skills and proven experience and skills in working relationally with young people aged 18-25 in the Geelong region, whether in a cultural institutional, educational and/ or community setting. * Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues, project team leaders, and industry partners. * Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required. * Demonstrated high level of communication skills.
