Associate Scientific Director Job Overview: The Associate Scientific Director is responsible for leading the development of high-quality medical content that aligns with client objectives and scientific strategy. This role partners closely with senior scientific and cross-functional leads to ensure assigned projects are delivered with scientific rigor, strategic relevance, and operational excellence. The ASD is accountable for the quality, scientific and medical accuracy, and timeliness of assigned projects. Job Responsibilities: * Develop original and derivative content to the highest scientific and editorial standard for a range of high-impact digital clinical content and live program materials in accordance with established budgets, timelines, and strategic objectives. * Assess and ensure clinical accuracy of all content through careful review of source materials, including medical and scientific journals * Interact with internal teams, clients, and HCPs on programs to meet strategic objectives through the use of medical marketing rationale, and identification / selection of appropriate HCPs * Develop your strategic skill set in an effort to uncover the most compelling way in which to differentiate a brand or franchise from a medically viable, but compelling perspective * Prepare content for and participate in client medical/legal/regulatory reviews as needed * Develop presentation skills; clearly communicate medical concepts in a condensed, audience-appropriate way to the client and agency * Maintain an up-to-date understanding of client-specific requirements for MLR (eg, Veeva) submissions  * Develop content for, travel to, and participate in off-site programs (eg, advisory boards) outside of normal working hours on an as-needed basis  * Develop effective, collaborative working relationships with fellow employees, clients, faculty, and vendors * Prepare high-level promotional marketing materials (eg, banner and text ads, emails) * Partner with key pharmaceutical clients to discuss scientific aspects of the project and act as a point of contact for both clients and key thought leaders * Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of therapy areas relevant to own accounts, including product data and educational messaging, terminology, and competitor awareness * Travel within the US and internationally as necessary  to client meetings, events (e.g. advisory boards), pitches, etc (~25% travel) * Financial Accountability: * Complete timesheets accurately and on time * Complete and submit expense reports on time Skills & Experience: * Advanced degree in a scientific / medical discipline (PharmD, PhD) required * At least 3 years of experience working in a medical communications agency setting as a Medical Writer * Demonstrated aptitude for learning, interpreting, and communicating medical data in visual and written outputs, adapted for a range of healthcare audiences * Ability to work across multiple projects and accounts simultaneously  * Meticulous attention to detail and understanding of medical terminology * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt approach according to the needs of clients and teams, and the ability to respond quickly to situations and manage internal /external issues * Team player able to work independently and collaboratively with the scientific team and other departments * Advanced computer literacy necessary, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications such as PowerPoint and Word, Google Suite such as Slides, Docs in addition to online medical resource searching (eg Ovid, Medline, PubMed, etc.) What We Offer: * A competitive compensation package * The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $125,000.
