OB DESCRIPTION

Spectrix Analytical Services, LLC is searching for candidates for a full-time permanent entry level Associate Scientist to support Tissue and Cell Culture for a large pharmaceutical client in Spring House, PA.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. in biology, engineering or related scientific discipline with relevant experience in a biological laboratory.
  • Must be self-motivated, highly detail-oriented and flexible, and possess excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Ability to rapidly master new skills in a technology-enabled environment.
  • Experience in calibration and maintenance of scientific instruments is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

· Conduct the following day-to-day operational activities to support Cell Culture.
· Cellular and biochemical assays using offline laboratory instrumentation or robotic automation systems.
· Mammalian cell culture support including cell line maintenance, expansion and banking.
· Troubleshooting of laboratory automation and cellular and biochemical assays to ensure delivery of consistent and high-quality data.
· Preparation of compound samples for testing in cellular and biochemical assays.
· Conduct work according to standard SOPs and consistently deliver high quality data within timelines to support drug discovery R&D.
· Maintain excellent experimental records that accurately describe individual steps in laboratory electronic notebook in compliance with company policies and standards.
· Execute work across liquid handlers, laboratory automation, plate readers, and mass spectrophotometers.
· Assist with laboratory hardware and software fault diagnosis and perform hands-on troubleshooting, repairs and calibrations for laboratory automation, computer systems, and stand-alone instruments.
· Assist with transition of manual workflows onto automated assay systems and optimize existing automated processes and platforms to improve efficiency, throughput, robustness and quality.
· Execute identified process optimization solutions to streamline workflow and identify and address bottlenecks.
