We are currently looking for an Associate Scientist to join our R&D team in our facility in Gent/Zwijnaarde. This position is open to a candidate to work full-time in the lab, with a high drive to generate qualitative results together and in tight collaboration with other members of the project team in a professional and challenging fashion. This all happens in a dynamic, informal and stimulating environment where you and your colleagues work to reach the set goals and co-develop novel therapeutics to bring to patients. This position is located in Zwijnaarde (Ghent) and expects daily on-site presence in the lab. Please include your CV and a short motivation letter. Work description The candidate will play a key role in the discovery, characterization, and optimization of novel therapeutic antibodies, while also contributing to the experimental derisking of complex and emerging biology. Key responsibilities for this role include: Quality-Oriented: Ensuring the highest standards of data integrity through precise execution, interpretation, and reporting of hands-on experiments. Efficiency-Driven: Organizing work efficiently, managing priorities, and delivering assignments on time. Creative Solutions: Designing new experimental protocols and creatively solving unexpected challenges. Collaborative Engagement: Actively participating in internal meetings to presenting findings and insights clearly, and pro-actively propose next steps. Continuous Learning: Demonstrating eagerness to become acquainted with novel biology, learn new techniques, and sharing expertise with colleagues. Profile Education: Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Science or a related field or Master’s degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Industrial engineer or equivalent. Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in key lab techniques, desirably in an industrial setting. Motivated, quality-conscious, independent and mature researcher with a creative and analytical mindset, eager to work in the laboratory and contribute to a dynamic, fast-growing biotech environment. Excellent team player with strong communication and presentation skills and fluent in English, our working language.
