Description
The Associate Scientist will be responsible for the following:  * Researching new or existing ingredients  *  making cosmetic batches as well as placing batches on stability.  * Ensuring ingredients are compliant with regional/global regulations * Scaling up batches * Preparing batches for evaluation purposes * Formulation Development: * Develop new cosmetic formulas based on market trends, consumer needs, and ingredient properties.  * Modify existing formulas to improve performance or address stability issues.  * Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate the efficacy of cosmetic ingredients and formulations.  * Optimize ingredient combinations to achieve desired product characteristics (texture, viscosity, color, etc.).  * Product Testing: * Participate in-vitro and in-vivo testing protocols to assess product performance on skin or hair.  * Analyze test data to interpret results and identify areas for improvement.  * Coordinate with internal evaluation team to conduct consumer testing studies.  * Research and Innovation: * Stay updated on emerging cosmetic technologies and ingredients  * Explore new scientific concepts to develop innovative product concepts  * Conduct literature reviews and present findings to the R&D team  * Collaboration: * Work closely with Marketing teams to translate research into products that can assist our customers learn more about our raw materials * Communicate research findings to internal stakeholders and management  * Regulatory Compliance: * Ensure all product formulations adhere to relevant cosmetic regulations (FDA, EU, etc.)  * Review ingredient safety data and maintain documentation for potential regulatory submissions    Required Skills and Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, cosmetic science, biology, or a related field * 0-2 years of experience in cosmetic product development  * Strong understanding of cosmetic ingredients, their properties, and interactions  * Proficiency in laboratory techniques including analytical chemistry, stability testing, and formulation development  * Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills  * Ability to work independently and as part of a team  * Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively document research findings and present results * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
