With the continuous business growth and expansion of Connor and its clients, we are looking for Associates and Senior Associates to help us further build our capabilities and manage global client projects. In this position, you will be responsible for advising and assisting clients on software license compliance and Software Asset Management (SAM) activities, with the support of senior team members. This role involves managing a wide range of compliance-related projects, including audit execution, data analytics, license optimization, process improvement, and contract management. We trust our Associate Consultants to always perform at a high level of quality and professionalism.

REQUIREMENTS: EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • 2–6 years of experience in SAM, software license compliance, or IT asset management, ideally within a consulting or enterprise environment.
  • Academic background: B.Tech / M.Tech/ MCA/ MBA/BS in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Certifications such as CSAM, CHAMP, ITIL, or ISO 19770 are a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with licensing metrics from major vendors (Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, VMware, Autodesk, etc.) and experience conducting license true-ups or audit responses.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros, and large data sets.
  • Hands-on experience with SAM tools such as Snow, Flexera, ServiceNow Asset Management, or Lansweeper.
  • Ability to interpret complex licensing models and contractual language.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify compliance gaps and propose remediation or optimization actions.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly organized, methodical, with a strong eye for detail and data integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey licensing and SAM findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and perform all facets of the engagement: planning, execution, and reporting activities, including license baselining, usage analysis, renewal preparation, and Effective License Position (ELP) development.
  • Conduct detailed entitlement reviews and license reconciliations across diverse environments and publishers.
  • Collaborate with client-side SAM teams, procurement, IT operations, and finance to drive end-to-end asset lifecycle visibility and optimization.
  • Configure and validate SAM tools and data integrations (e.g., Snow, Flexera) to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Develop and present remediation and optimization recommendations to clients, driving cost savings and compliance alignment.
  • Perform extensive Excel analysis and work with structured/unstructured data sets as part of license and usage evaluations.
  • Support internal audits and vendor audits by helping clients understand contractual entitlements and usage rights.
  • Research and interpret product use rights, license models, and publisher-specific licensing metrics.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, including SaaS subscription models, BYOL, cloud consumption licensing, and ISO/ITIL SAM best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for maturing SAM capabilities, such as governance frameworks, policy creation, and process automation.
  • Manage engagement KPIs, including deadlines and project milestones.
