Your role
You’ll be a part of our
Funds
,
Superannuation
& Financial Services Team (FSF) team and work with lawyers across all of our offices. Working closely with our Partners and the wider team, you will gain exposure to the most complex and interesting transactions in the market. You’ll have the privilege of advising clients from almost every sector, from government and healthcare through to infrastructure, media and banking.

At Allens, our structure means you’ll get exposure to a number of different Partners within your practice group and a wide variety of work. We encourage our lawyers to find their niche and specialise in areas they’re interested in, while building a strong foundation across their field. As an investments lawyer within our FSF team, your role will include:

  • Advising leading Australian and global institutional investors, including many of Australia’s largest superannuation funds, in relation to their direct and indirect investments across a range of traditional and emerging asset classes. This work includes advising our clients on a range of investment structures and activities, including:
  • Pooled fund investments;
  • Co-investments alongside managers;
  • Funds-of-one;
  • Direct investments / JVs, capital partnerships and other closely-held fund structures into private market assets such as real estate and infrastructure;
  • IMAs; and
  • Asset transition work.
  • Assisting superannuation and other investors in relation to regulatory and compliance issues associated with their investment activities.

About you

You will have:

  • Experience working in funds, superannuation or financial services, ideally from a leading top tier, national or international firm, or an in-house team.
  • A background in financial services, with experience in investments or funds-related transactions and matters, including across the suite of private capital asset classes.
  • A passion to specialise in investments work with a focus on clients in the superannuation sector, while still building generalist expertise.
  • Excellent academics.
  • A desire to learn, grow, network, mentor others.
