Responsibilities

We are currently looking for an Associate/ Senior Associate Lawyer to join our high performing s at TG Legal & Technology in Melbourne. The position will work closely with experienced and respected Principal Lawyers and colleagues on a range of interesting and complex litigation including in VCAT, the Magistrates Court, County Court and multiple divisions of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
The successful candidate will be driven to exceed deadlines and targets in order to align with the competitive direction of the group, and in return you will work alongside a dynamic and collaborative team as well as experienced and proactive secretarial support.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Possess experience dealing with statutory compensation and common law damages matters;
  • Have exposure to drafting legal documents and written advices;
  • Hold strong interpersonal and negotiation skills;
  • Demonstrate a client focussed approach with superior organisational skills as the work is deadline sensitive;
  • With appropriate mentoring and supervision have the ability to work relatively autonomously and handle files and matters independently;
  • Have excellent attention to detail, analytical skills which will be backed up by strong academics;
  • Be familiar with Victorian workers’ compensation legislation and case law;
  • Possess a genuine interest in insurance law and a desire to further your career in this area; and
  • Knowledge of the Transport Accident Act would be desirable.
