Job Description: There are 4 different areas within the manufacturing process you can potentially be assigned to within this role. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting the delivery of advanced aerospace products and capabilities. Working as part of a collaborative production team, you’ll be involved in a variety of manufacturing activities including composite materials, assembly support, material handling and workshop operations. Using engineering drawings, process instructions and specialist equipment, you’ll help ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You’ll gain valuable practical experience across a range of manufacturing processes while developing practical skills within a highly regulated aerospace environment. With opportunities to broaden your knowledge, work alongside experienced colleagues and contribute to important programmes, this role offers a great foundation for ongoing career development within Air Operations and the wider BAE Systems business. Core duties: There are 4 different manufacturing areas you can potentially be assigned to within this role Carrying out manufacturing activities using engineering drawings, process instructions and quality specifications Supporting composite manufacturing processes including material preparation, lay-up, curing, finishing and repair activities Moving materials, kits and components safely across the production environment using approved handling methods Assisting with assembly, fabrication and workshop tasks using a range of tools, equipment and jigs Following health, safety, environmental and quality requirements to support efficient and compliant production operations Essential Skills: Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, assembly or engineering environment is preferred Demonstrable manual dexterity and experience using hand tools to complete precise manufacturing tasks Understanding of engineering drawings, work instructions or technical specifications within a manufacturing setting Knowledge of Tool Control, tool calibration requirements and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) procedures Experience following health, safety, quality and environmental standards within a regulated production environment The Air Operations Manufacturing Team: Working at the heart of Air Operations, this team supports the manufacture of advanced aerospace products through a range of specialist production activities.
