The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) software capability is seeking an Associate Software Engineer in Fairfax, Virginia, Annapolis Junction, Maryland, El Segundo, California, or Huntington Beach, California.
The position will involve creating software for world class, next generation disruptive systems and technologies. The selected candidate will work with the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design and development of a future system. Our software products help solve Boeing’s most challenging problems across Commercial Airplanes, Defense Space & Security, and Global Services businesses. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE):

• 1+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real-time or non-real-time system
• 1+ years of experience with C/C++ coding or java/python script development
• 1+ years of experience working in an Agile Environment utilizing Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) or similar tools/tools suite
• Experience with Agile development methodologies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

• 2+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real-time or non-real-time system
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements analysis through Formal Qualification
• Experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevOps tool chain, for example using GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, and Artifactory
• Experience using GitLab
• Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with Polygraph

TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Level 2 (Associate Level)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

• Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
• Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
• Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
• Supports software project management and software supplier management functions
• Selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; establishes metrics
• Performs software research and trade studies
• Troubleshoots software issues
• Works under general supervision
