Associate Software Engineer – Platform (Kubernetes CRD Operators) Location: Hyderabad (Hybrid – 3 days in office) Role Overview We are hiring an Associate Software Engineer to join our platform engineering team building Kubernetes-native infrastructure for Nasuni’s cloud file data platform. In this role, you will work on Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs), controllers, and operator-based systems, helping translate real-world storage behaviors into Kubernetes-native constructs. You will contribute to building scalable, production systems while developing strong fundamentals in distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud-native development. This role is designed for engineers early in their careers who want to learn fast, build real systems, and grow into deep infrastructure engineers. Level & Scope Definition Contribute to development of CRDs, controllers, and platform services Work within defined architecture and design patterns Receive guidance from senior engineers while building production code Focus on execution, debugging, and learning system behavior Collaborate closely with team members on implementation tasks Responsibilities Contribute to building and maintaining Kubernetes controllers and operators Implement features within CRDs that model storage workflows Assist in writing reconciliation logic under guidance Debug issues across: Kubernetes workloads Application-level services Write clean, maintainable code in Golang (preferred) or C++ Participate in code reviews and team discussions Support testing, deployment, and CI/CD workflows Learn Kubernetes internals including: Pods, controllers, API basics Use AI tools to: Improve coding productivity Assist debugging and learning workflows Qualifications Must-Have 1–3 years of software engineering experience (or strong internships/projects) Proficiency in Golang, C++, or similar systems language Basic understanding of: Kubernetes concepts (pods, deployments) Linux fundamentals Experience building backend systems or APIs Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Preferred Hands-on exposure to: Kubernetes controllers or CRDs Docker / containerization Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows Exposure to distributed systems concepts Ideal Built a small project using Kubernetes or controllers Contributed to open-source or production code Demonstrated rapid learning in complex systems Experience Guidelines 1–3 years total experience Internship/project experience counts if hands-on Strong emphasis on coding ability + learning velocity About Nasuni Nasuni is the unstructured data foundation for enterprise teams—and the AI that supports them.
