Associate Solutions Designer Interns will partner with product architects and developers across various Visa teams to brainstorm and architect innovative solutions. Designing a good solution requires an understanding of respective Visa products and either mapping out or tailoring new solutions. A well-architected solution will consider security, scalability, fault-tolerance, agility, costs, space, power, and extensibility. Some examples of previous summer intern job duties and projects: Empathize with developers and product managers, discuss pros and cons of a proposed solution, and effectively break ties Apply knowledge of cloud computing with cloud-native, virtualized, and physical workloads, as well as their storage and networking options Assess project requirements and employ appropriate technologies Agentify/automate processes using REST APIs, GenAI, Temporal, and Jira Qualifications Basic Qualifications Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, or a related field, graduating December 2026-August 2027. Preferred Qualifications Deep experience with Python coding and infrastructure automation Familiarity with GenAI, LLMs, Prompt Engineering, LangChain, and/or Temporal Experience with container-based development, deployments, and workloads Understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts, virtualization, SQL/NoSQL database architectures Knowledge of role-based access, identity and access management framework; high-availability & high-volume processing environments; load balancers, global traffic management, firewalls, and networking concepts Experience working with public, private, and hybrid clouds; knowledge of cloud automation, DevOps and CI/CD tools Understanding of Architecture Constructs (Architecture & Design patterns, protocols SOAP, REST, etc.), as well as Development Methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) Experience with IT Architecture (high-level & detail-level design, blueprinting, design patterns) and understanding of Project Management Tools (Rally, Jira, etc.) Experienced with highly available enterprise level multi-tier applications and services utilizing technologies including relational databases, Microservices, Kubernetes, Kafka, and distributed NoSQL databases Understanding of self-healing/immutable microservice-based architectures, clustering models, and networking technologies Desire and ability to work with global cross-functional teams leveraging efficient processes via automation Ability to articulate a deep understanding of benefits/drawbacks to various solutions Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor Curiosity to tackle any complex or new problem Excellent written and verbal communication; presentation and facilitation skills Additional Information U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated hourly range for a new hire into this position is $34-$39/hr which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
