Description:

Professional Acts as a positive role model through the provision of effective professional leadership for relevant clinical areas and demonstration of competent and accountable clinical practice. Demonstrates knowledge of contemporary clinical practice, explores new ideas and introduces positive, evidence-based change in line with local and national/international initiatives and share with your team. To establish and maintain professional networking relationships with all professionals and groups/Trusts. To be accountable for ones own professional practice and professional development and ensure registration and compliance with the NMC and the Code of professional Conduct or other relevant regulatory body for your discipline and support junior members of staff to do the same.
Support development and implement educational programmes for staff with regard to your speciality, education for patients, carers and colleagues and evaluate effectiveness of this delivery with your team. To collect and analyse incidents and prevalence data for your speciality within the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS trust, identifying trends and translating these to reports/action plans. Works within the financial budget allocated to your speciality, in collaboration with the line manager, general manager and appropriate leads across CYP and Adult services. Education, Training and Development Contributing to the clinical learning environment, acting as a teacher, facilitator, role model, mentor or preceptor according to the planned learning needs of individuals.
To work in close collaboration with other clinicians to set and maintain local standards with regards your speciality. The post holder will provide learning opportunities for nursing staff; and contribute to the learning opportunities of other professional groups. Supporting the provision and organisation of in-service training for clinical staff Participating in study days/seminars organised within and outside of the Trust. Maintaining own knowledge and skills and developing own clinical evidence based practice.
Teaching and supporting students within the University and clinical environment. Develop and act as an educational resource for clinical staff, patients and carers and relevant external agencies by providing formal and informal education. Contribute towards development, evaluations and management of educational training programmes for all staff and patients and their careers in liaison with Clinical Educators/Facilitators or other colleagues. Maintain a current awareness of local, regional, national, and International perspectives using and sharing this knowledge to influence service development.
Monitor risks in own and wider practices, challenging others and identifying issues with your service maintaining the risk register with your line manager. Audit and Research The post holder will contribute to a research & development culture by: Utilising evidence based research to develop practice. Identifying priorities for research and development within the specialty. Assisting staff in translating research findings into policy and practice.
Develop & undertaking audit to evaluate own work including the service and its outcomes in collaboration with the Multidisciplinary team. Support in auditing the services provided and producing service reports to demonstrate efficacy as directed by the line manager Contributing to local, regional or national audit/research and presenting findings as appropriate. Identifying need for changes in practice, making recommendations for service improvement and facilitating new ways of working, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. To participate in and support the research nurse and the research projects undertaken in the clinical area.
This will involve actively recruiting suitable patients to the relevant body
