ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or master’s degree in engineering
  • Entry-level position, 0-3 of experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Preferably Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or member of professional engineering society as applicable
  • Eager to learn
  • Working knowledge of English, both oral and written
  • Learn the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines as applicable
  • Learn design techniques and analysis methods
  • HSE, TQM and cost-conscious
  • Show flexibility and ensure proper hand-over with regards to:
  • The reassignment to other departments, construction sites, and fabrication yards
  • The replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays
  • The provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workloads (also other projects) when possible and desirable
  • The managing or learning of future current working methods and software applications
  • Accredited engineering degree as may be required by specific regions
  • Familiar with the use of codes and standards

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on basic engineering tasks
  • Apply knowledge and skills to complete routine assignments under close supervision and mentoring
  • Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures
  • Organize own work to meet deadlines set by others
  • Clearly communicate information, asking questions and checking for understanding
  • Gain an understanding of the project scope of work, specifications, schedule, and all inter-discipline requirements
  • Perform computer analyses of structures designed by others with guidance from Senior and PPL engineers
  • Prepare design calculations as required
  • Perform engineering checks of drafting
  • Use of specifications when performing design calculations
  • Prepare MTOs of primary structures under supervision
  • Provide engineering support as required
  • Assist in the preparation of subcontract documents
  • Review vendor data with guidance from colleagues
    Reports to: Project: Lead Engineer
