Description

Pennoni is hiring for an Associate Structural Engineer to join our Forensics Engineering team on a full-time, direct basis while based in the Clearwater, FL area.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related technical discipline (i.e.: Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, etc.).
  • 2 years of professional experience working in Engineering (preferably with Structural projects).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • E. / E.I.T. is a plus!
  • Experience working with the design and analysis of a variety of structural systems / complex projects; experience with nonlinear structural analysis is a plus!
  • Experience working with structural inspections.
  • Proficiency with engineering / CADD tools; expertise with AutoCAD and Revit BIM is preferred!
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis software; experience with RAM, STAAD, ENERCALC, and/or Mathcad is preferred.
  • Proficiency on all standard Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to vertical structural design, renovation, and inspection projects.
  • Perform structural design & analysis of building structural systems.
  • Design and detailing of structures for low-rise & high-rise buildings with a variety of materials (i.e.: concrete, steel, masonry, and timber).
  • Develop finite element models for the analysis of complex structures.
  • Perform a variety of field inspections (including threshold inspections) and develop corresponding site visit reports.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.
