BMO Capital Markets has an instrumental role to play to bring our Purpose into action and helping the Bank and our clients meet the sustainability challenges of the future. As a member of the Sustainable Finance team the Associate contributes to the group’s mandate by:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree with a focus on business, economics, finance/accounting; MBA or other graduate degree a plus
  • 3 to 5+ year’s relevant business experience, preferably in an investment banking or equivalent role at a global financial institution or comparable industry (e.g., asset management, management consulting, etc.)
  • Must be highly proficient in MS Excel & PowerPoint
  • Able to interpret ESG scores and their application across industries
  • Highly organized with a proven ability to manage and deliver on multiple complex projects with varying levels of urgency, sensitivity and importance at the same time
  • Understanding of ESG investing trends and practices a plus
  • Experienced and confident interacting at all levels, including with senior management
  • Communicates effectively on all levels, adapts style based on audience, is able to write, present and lead meetings

Responsibilities
  • Deal structuring and execution (analysis, due diligence, capital structuring, client communications, delivering transaction documentation, etc.,)
  • Industry, regulatory and client research and analysis, including analyzing and writing internal and external content, and interpreting ESG scores and other relevant data, and more
  • Developing client presentations materials and supporting client relationships and business development
  • Leading and actively participating in client pitches and market updates
  • Writing internal and external marketing memoranda
  • Assist in identifying new client opportunities
