We are seeking a highly motivated year placement student to join our dynamic team. As a part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work in the technology development function at our state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing facility. In this dynamic and fast paced environment, you could be spending time developing process parameters with advanced welding robots; or you could be assessing material properties and microstructure of our components; you may even be working on client-facing novel development projects.TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES You will have the opportunity to: • Work in the technology development team to explore, assess, experiment, and improve new technologies across the WA-DED manufacturing journey of a product, such as - thermal modelling and validation, hardware integration, robot performance evaluation & improvement, multi-robot development • Support other teams such as engineering, additive manufacturing, production, quality, and health & safety to enable the manufacture of large-scale, high-criticality, high-performance material components • Learn about and be involved in the entire WA-DED manufacturing journey: CAD design, toolpath generation, parameter optimisation, part manufacturing, post-processing, destructive and non-destructive testing We are looking for students with: • Background in engineering, manufacturing, material science or related field. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and present data effectively. • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to technical challenges. • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to diverse teams. • Strong sense of curiosity, independence, and quick learning What's in it for you Salary – competitive Bonus – Performance related bonus scheme Annual Leave – 25 days, plus statutory holidays Lunch – Free lunch and breakfast provided onsite alongside snacks Free Parking & EV Charging Who we are DEEP is an international design and engineering company on a mission to make humans aquatic. Responsibilities
The Associate Technology Development Engineer will work in the technology development team to explore and improve new technologies in manufacturing. Responsibilities include developing process parameters, assessing material properties, and supporting various teams to enable high-performance component manufacturing.
