Overview The Associate Test Technician (3rd shift) supports the Mechanical Testing Department by preparing and testing customer-supplied aerospace materials. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals who are eager to learn hands-on mechanical testing techniques in a highly regulated aerospace environment. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to develop the skills needed to perform mechanical testing, data recording, and laboratory documentation in compliance with quality standards. Salary: $23- $26/hour (Depending on Experience) + $2.00 Shift Differential Hours: 10:00 - 6:30am Monday to Friday Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and handle materials provided by customers, ensuring proper identification, traceability, and documentation. Assist in setting up and performing a variety of mechanical tests such as combo stress rupture, fastener stress rupture and creep testing. Follow written work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and aerospace testing standards (ASTM, AMS, ISO). Record test results accurately and maintain clear, organized data and test logs. Support the preparation of samples, fixtures, and test setups as directed by senior technicians or engineers. Adhere to all safety protocols, quality standards (AS9100 / Nadcap), and confidentiality requirements related to customer materials. Maintain the laboratory area in a clean, organized, and audit-ready condition. Participate in training programs to build knowledge in materials testing and data integrity practices. Skills / Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Entry-level position – no prior experience required. Previous experience in a mechanical lab, manufacturing, or aerospace environment is helpful but not necessary. Training will be provided for all testing procedures and equipment. Interest in hands-on mechanical or materials testing work. Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand tools or measurement instruments. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and record-keeping. Willingness to learn and follow structured procedures. Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment. Basic computer literacy (Excel, data entry, or laboratory software). Work Environment: Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs. of samples or fixtures. Standing, bending, or working at test stations for extended periods. Manual dexterity for operating tools, instruments, and test equipment.· Laboratory and mechanical testing environment with moderate noise and moving machinery. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. Overtime or weekend work may be required based on customer schedules.
