JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Lead Technician, the Test Technician is primarily responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing production electronic equipment and systems on site in the Bedford facility.

Responsibilities

AS A TEST TECHNICIAN, YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Applies electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, testing procedures and related knowledge to test and troubleshoot production electronic equipment.
  • Utilizes test equipment to perform functional, operational, and environmental tests on equipment to established criteria to determine acceptability.
  • Performs test equipment prove out.
  • Evaluates performance of equipment and compliance with procedures.
  • Reads and interprets diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals for repair and diagnostic information.
  • Performs troubleshooting and failure analysis on products and documents results.
  • Completes repairs, maintenance, and calibrations to test equipment.
  • Designs fixtures and jigs.
  • Capable of performing related manufacturing processes
  • Interpret and follow documents such as SOPs and safety rules
  • Interface with other departments to ensure efficient flow of information and materials
  • Meet production deadlines
  • Analyzes, records, and interprets test data to determine product acceptability.
  • Recommends changes in method or installation specifications to simplify tests or reduce test times.

WHAT YOU REQUIRE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE:

  • Possession of an Electronics Technician Diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related work experience within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic equipment.
  • Experience reading schematics and engineering specs.
  • Must have technical competency and good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret test data.
  • Ability to work on their own
  • Ability to administer multiple ongoing projects
  • Must have basic design capabilities and integration/troubleshooting skills
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize and meet work schedules;
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments; and
  • Works well within a team.
