Description

Overview:
The Associate Test Technician (2nd Shift) is responsible for conducting mechanical tests on materials and components to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. The role involves operating testing equipment, preparing test samples, analyzing results, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Shift 2: 2 -10:30pm
Salary: $22- $24/hour DOE (Depending on Experience) + $1.00 Shift Differential

Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical tests, primarily tensile and will be cross trained in hardness
  • Operate universal testing machines (UTMs) and hardness testers
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure laboratory instruments are in compliance with ISO, ASTM, and other industry standards.
  • Record test results accurately and generate detailed reports.
  • Maintain laboratory documentation and ensure compliance with quality control standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and laboratory best practices.
  • Ensure testing procedures align with ISO 17025, ASTM, ASME, and other applicable standards.
  • Participate in laboratory audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Math Skills: Competency in performing precise measurements, data calculations (using formulas) with little to no errors.
  • Experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or metalworking environment is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office (word)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good organizational and documentation skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a focus on precision and accuracy.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and analyze material failures.
