Description

Closer Connections Counselling and Consulting has proudly served Springfield and the surrounding communities since 2014. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a compassionate, ethical, and highly competent Associate Therapist to join our respected team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children and families, and looking for a long-term professional associate position within an established practice. POSITION SUMMARY

  • Location: Oakbank, Manitoba
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Schedule: 1–2 days per week to start (approximately 10 clients), with potential to increase to full-time
  • Client Focus: Primarily children (ages 4–12), with opportunities to work with adolescents and families
  • Compensation: Competitive, based on qualifications and experience
  • Availability: Flexibility required, with some after-school hours and occasional Saturdays

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in a recognized mental health discipline (e.g., Counselling, Psychology, Social Work)
  • Current membership in a professional college or association, with active registration and liability insurance
  • Specialized training in play therapy
  • Demonstrated experience providing therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents
  • Sound ethical judgment and ability to maintain professional boundaries
  • Capacity to work both independently and as part of a collaborative clinical team
  • Experience working with a range of client concerns, including trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, family transitions, behavioural and developmental challenges, and parenting support
  • Commitment to continued professional development, clinical supervision, and peer consultation
