Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Associate Tool & Fixture Specialist-Fabrication to support the 787 Program based out of North Charleston, SC on second shift.
This position will support cutting tool fabrication, modification, and inspection of drills, reamers, countersinks and various other cutting tools used to manufacture airplanes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift
  • 1+ years of experience in fabrication and assembly
  • 1+ years of experience operating conventional machine tools, production metal parts
  • 1+ years of experience operating machine shop equipment
  • Must be willing to work any shift assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

  • 1+ years of experience working with tool and cutter grinding process, prototype development or fabrication processes
  • 1+ years of experience using REDARS.
  • Able to interpret cutting tool drawings.
  • Experience with machine operation and set-up or tool & die set-up and operation.
  • Experience fabricating or modifying cutting tools.
Responsibilities
  • Performs routine tool set up activities
  • Makes minor repairs
  • Performs manufacture, assembly, and fabrication of cutting tools
  • Operates various factory support equipment to move materials, product, and tools as required
  • Provides cutting tool support to other organizations
  • Assists in determining fabrication and assembly processes for the design
  • Assists in reverse engineering design and fabrication processes for parts
  • Performs inspections of cutting tools (Drills, reamers & countersinks)
