Description

Birkbeck, University of London, has an excellent opportunity for an Associate Tutor to join Birkbeck’s Business School and support the team this coming Autumn term 2025.
As Associate Tutor you would support the Brand Development module.

The module is:

  • Brand Development
  • 27 hours
  • October - December Autumn Term 2025.

This post offers the opportunity to contribute to a vibrant undergraduate module of Birkbeck’s Business School.
Brand Development is a compulsory third year, level 6 undergraduate module for those taking the BSc Marketing degree. It introduces students to all aspects of brand management and strategy and covers all aspects of the theory and practice of branding.
The module allows students to build on their knowledge of the principles of marketing and develop their ability to explore relevant branding issues and challenges. In the process, they develop a critical perspective that covers various corporate and consumer issues. This is achieved through testing the validity of a number of concepts and analytical frameworks by applying them to case studies relating to branding.
A key aspect of the module is that students are shown how to develop strategies for the development and maintenance of successful brands in a variety of market contexts.

In addition to the criteria specified in the job pack, candidates must have:

  • An all-round knowledge of marketing, and a degree or relevant experience in marketing
  • Expert knowledge at explaining how the Marketing Planning Process relates to domestic and international branding
  • A track record of student engagement and wants to contribute to an impactful and transformational educational experience
  • The ability able to work both as part of a team and independently as appropriate, and has the ability to support teaching.

Please refer to the person specification for further selection criteria.

Our academics specialise in marketing and consumption issues from a wide range of multidisciplinary perspectives, drawing on socio-cultural, psychological, anthropological, organisational, managerial, feminist, and literary traditions of research.
