Description
Job Purpose To assist senior underwriters in providing administrative support, assessing and evaluating Marine risks to drive business retention and growth, and ensuring profitability and stability of the Marine Insurance portfolio. The Job · Underwrite and provide quotations in accordance with assigned authorized limits and within the company’s underwriting guidelines and treaty terms · Arrange for placement of facultative reinsurance as required · Review renewal of accounts and Marine Open Covers, negotiate renewal terms and follow up on policy renewals before the expiry · Issue cover notes and follow up on shipment declarations of cover notes and Marine Open Cover · Visit intermediaries and clients for business development and service feedback · Liaise with the Operation Team for policy processing and Accounts Team in credit control activities if needed · Provide Help Desk service to intermediaries and clients on enquiries pertaining to eMarine web-based generated documentation and basic technical support · Review vessel accumulation and reinsurance allocation of eMarine web-based policies for data processing · Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), if required · Assist in products development and enhancement · Perform customer and vessel screening via inhouse system for compliance against Anti Money Laundering /Counter Financing of Terrorism in line with the Group Policy · Participate in any ad-hoc project assigned · Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate the risks · Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risks and better safeguard the company · Highlight any potential concerns/risks and proactively share best risk management practices · Degree holder preferable with professional insurance qualification (eg. ACII) · Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience · Good communication and written skills · Good interpersonal skills · Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint · Team player and able to work independently. · High level of integrity, take accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork · Take initiative to improve current state of things and adapt in embracing new changes
