We strive to provide our guests with an exciting, educational, and memorable experience.    Under supervision of the Head Veterinarian, the Associate Veterinarian will assist the Head Veterinarian in the planning, execution, and oversight of the Veterinary Department. Responsibilities include but are not limed to: * Participate in the design and execution of the preventive veterinary care program. * Prescribe medical treatments; communicate with animal care staff regarding treatment options, prognoses, follow-up care, and recommended husbandry changes. * Perform physical examinations, surgeries, diagnostic procedures, and treatments to provide outstanding medical care to aquarium residents and Rescue patients. * Administer and monitor sedation and/or general anesthesia. * Work effectively with Curators to develop protocols involving animal diets, quarantine, and preventive medicine practices. * Perform necropsies and prepare post-mortem samples for lab analyses; collate results over time and make medical recommendations based on trends. * Provide basic medical, nutritional, and zoonotic training for Animal Husbandry staff as needed. Requirements Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree; at least 2 years related experience and/or training in non-domestic animal medicine.
