Our client is an independent boutique investment banking advisory firm based in Singapore, with a presence across Asia. They specialize in private financing, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and restructuring advisory services. Their work spans various industry sectors, including Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT), Consumer and Retail, Industrials, Real Estate and Hospitality, and Infrastructure.
The Associate Vice President/Vice President is responsible for leading a team of Associates and Analysts in executing transactions.
Client Relationship Management:
- Maintain regular communication with clients.
- Ensure clear and timely updates on deal progress.
- Address any client-related issues in collaboration with the MD/Director/Senior VP.
- Foster client relationships after deal closure.
- Cultivate relationships with the investor community, including Private Equity Funds, Banks, and Sponsors.
- Develop new business relationships and enhance existing ones.
Transaction Execution:
- Provide support to the senior team during execution.
- Manage the operational aspects of prospective deals from origination to conversion into clients and finally into mandates.
- Understand client requirements and offer appropriate services/products.
- Guide the junior deal team in drafting the Engagement Letter, especially regarding commercial terms and key deliverables.
- Oversee client transactions by reviewing all analysis and presentations created by the deal team.
- Conduct financial modeling and structuring.
- Manage operational aspects of a deal or mandate.
Supervision and Guidance in Analytical Deal Documentation Creation:
- Create financial models using Excel and other tools.
- Carry out financial analyses, including DCF, Proforma earnings, accretion/dilution, and sum-of-the-parts.
- Conduct comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, and trading multiples.
- Perform client due diligence.
Deal Generation:
- Research and analyze various companies and industries.
- Build necessary knowledge and data for current and upcoming transactions.
- Participate in forums, conferences, and seminars to establish connections.
- Identify contacts for potential clients.
- Provide leads and potential deal connections to the Director.
General Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the team.
- Assign tasks to team members.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge Requirements:
- Strong industry analysis, financial analysis, and modeling skills, including DCF, SOTP, and valuation.
- Ability to comprehend both qualitative and quantitative data and communicate clearly.
- Good understanding of the sectors and industries that the company focuses on.
- In-depth knowledge of specific sectors/industries, including their issues, trends, and outlook.
- Proficiency in building financial models using financial tools and spreadsheets.
- Capability to conduct complex financial analyses and offer suitable corporate finance solutions.
- Comprehensive understanding of the various Investment Banking products offered by the company.
Skills Required:
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Capability to manage multiple transactions and projects.
- Proficiency in researching using libraries and the web, as well as databases like Capital IQ and Bloomberg.
