POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management (AVP) is responsible for overseeing and advancing Charter Oak State College’s enrollment strategies, student recruitment, and retention initiatives. This role leads the admissions, marketing, and academic advising teams, ensuring the alignment of enrollment efforts with institutional goals. Reporting to the Provost, the AVP develops and implements data-driven enrollment plans, enhances student engagement, and fosters collaborative partnerships to support student success from inquiry through graduation. The position requires conducting predictive analytics and statistical analysis of recruiting & enrollment trends, developing holistic support approaches for student success, development of strategic enrollment plan, and implementation & evaluation of enrollment goals.
Class Purpose:
Manage Charter Oak State College’s enrollment management division which functions to support the effective achievement of the College’s academic mission.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.) Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following:

  • Minimum of 10 years of achievement in supervising an enrollment management function within the higher education landscape.
  • Extensive knowledge of strategies to advance student success to grow enrollment.
  • A master’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Practical expertise in software packages and CRM technologies used to efficiently manage student information and deliver student services.
  • Experience in developing and implementing programs to support student academic and professional advancement in a student-centered environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A doctoral degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated success in securing funding for student success programs through grant writing.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct the activities of admissions, marketing, and academic advising teams.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a strategic enrollment plan based on comprehensive market research, predictive analytics, and workforce development needs.
  • Develop short-term and long-term strategies to achieve lead generation, application, enrollment, and retention goals.
  • Leverage advancements in technology and marketing to achieve unit goals and support the College’s mission.
  • Enhance holistic support approaches for student success.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop innovative branding and marketing messaging for publications, advertising, web presence, AI search visibility, and social media platforms.
  • Coordinate with relevant units across campus to develop innovative recruitment programs and strategies in partnership with faculty, staff, and administrators.
  • Review, address, and resolve student complaints or petitions related to the enrollment process.
  • Exhibit strong managerial capabilities, team-building skills, and a commitment to student success.
