POSITION SUMMARY The Association Facilities Director provides strategic leadership and hands-on support to ensure all YMCA of Silicon Valley facilities are safe, functional, and compliant. This role oversees branch facility teams and is responsible for maintenance systems, capital improvement projects, contractor and vendor management, and safety compliance. The position demands strong construction knowledge, project oversight capability, budget management, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $125,000/Year KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership & Oversight * Assists with the supervision of branch Facility Directors, Branch Tech's, and Association-level maintenance staff; directly supervises equipment staff * Establish standards for preventative maintenance, repair protocols, and emergency response. * Serve as subject matter expert for construction, project phasing, permitting, and contractor performance. * Models proactive support and strong cross-department communication with branch leaders. Maintenance & Operations * Oversee facility operations across all branches, including MEPS systems, pool systems, and fitness equipment. * Ensure timely resolution of maintenance tickets and vendor-initiated repairs using the electronic work order system. * Personally manage select capital and operational projects. Project & Vendor Management * Coordinate and oversee capital improvements, renovations, and infrastructure projects. * Read and interpret construction documents and technical specifications. * Review, analyze, and compare bids to ensure accuracy, scope alignment, and best value. * Review and negotiate vendor contracts; ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. * Ensure permitting processes are managed in compliance with city and state regulations. Compliance & Risk * Conduct regular audits for safety, ADA, and code compliance. * Maintain documentation for regulatory inspections, licenses, and certifications. * Manage and respond to emergency repairs and safety incidents. Supervisor Support * Assist with developing annual facilities operating and capital budgets. * Assist with Track expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and justify capital project proposals. * Other duties and responsibilities as needed. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum 5 plus years in facilities management or construction/project management roles. * Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities, or similar). * Demonstrated success managing capital projects and vendors in a multi-site environment. * Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical (including low voltage systems), plumbing, fire sprinkler, and life safety systems. * Familiarity with ADA, OSHA, building codes, and permitting processes. * Proficiency in facilities work order software and Microsoft Office Suite. * Valid CA driver's license and ability to travel between branches. * Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or ability to obtain within 6 months. ADDITIONAL NOTES * Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and respond to after-hours emergencies. * Position includes participation in on-call rotation and occasional weekend/evening work. * This position is critical to maintaining a safe, welcoming environment aligned with the YMCA's mission and values.
