Job Summary The SSA7 Program Associate (Engineer) plays a pivotal role in supporting the World Food Programme's initiatives, leveraging engineering expertise to ensure effective and efficient program delivery, particularly in emergency contexts. Job Responsibilities * Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of engineering-related components within WFP programs, ensuring adherence to technical standards and best practices. * Conduct data analysis and develop data visualizations to inform program strategies, identify trends, and measure impact, particularly in emergency and humanitarian settings. * Foster strong relationships with government counterparts, partners, and stakeholders to facilitate program implementation and ensure collaborative efforts. * Contribute to policy analysis and interpretation, providing technical input on engineering-related policies and guidelines relevant to WFP operations. * Manage various aspects of program implementation, including planning, resource allocation, and reporting, with a focus on engineering solutions. * Act as a key communicator, effectively conveying technical information to diverse audiences and representing WFP in relevant forums. * Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities, applying engineering solutions to address critical needs in crisis situations. * Demonstrate customer-oriented approaches by understanding and addressing the needs of beneficiaries and partners in program design and execution. * Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and learning, adapting to evolving program requirements and technological advancements. * Collaborate effectively within a team environment, sharing knowledge and expertise to achieve common program objectives. * Utilize technological tools and platforms to enhance program efficiency, data management, and communication. Job Qualifications * **Education:** University degree in Engineering or a related field. * **Experience:** Relevant experience in program management, engineering, or a related field, preferably within humanitarian or development contexts. Experience in emergency programs is highly desirable. * **Skills:** * **Communication:** Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly and concisely. * **Customer-Oriented:** Demonstrated ability to understand and respond to the needs of internal and external stakeholders. * **Data Analytics & Data Visualization:** Proficiency in analyzing data and presenting insights through effective visualizations. * **Emergency Programs:** Knowledge and experience in supporting or managing programs in emergency settings. * **Government Relations:** Experience in building and maintaining effective relationships with government entities. * **Learning Agility:** Proactive and adaptable approach to acquiring new knowledge and skills. * **Partner Relationship Management & Partnership Management:** Proven ability to cultivate and manage productive partnerships. * **Policy Analysis & Policy Interpretation:** Capacity to analyze and interpret policy documents and provide informed recommendations. * **Program Management:** Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. * **Strategic Thinking:** Ability to contribute to strategic planning and problem-solving. * **Teamwork:** Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team environment. * **Technologically Savvy:** Proficient in using relevant software and technological tools for program management and communication.
