Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Shorter University Shorter University, an NCAA Division II institution which competes in Conference Carolinas, is currently accepting applicants for the position of Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. This position will be responsible for sport specific coaching, Student-Athlete development, providing Christ-centered development for student-athletes, evaluating, and recruiting prospective student-athletes, and overall administrative duties. This 12-month position reports to the Men’s Head Basketball Coach. All activities shall be conducted within the policies of the University, the Athletics Department, Conference Carolinas, and the NCAA. The applicant must be a committed Christian. Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist with organization and administration of the men’s basketball program, including, but not limited to: * Recruiting Division II eligible athletes * Practice & game coaching * Planning, conducting, and evaluating conditioning programs for team. * Social media and public relations * Assist the head coach with game coaching and evaluation of player performance. * Assist the head coach with scouting opponents and preparation of game plans. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * A Bachelor’s degree is required * Previous experience as a player/coach at the collegiate level preferred; high school coaching required * A person guided by Christian principles Shorter University is a Christ-centered University affiliated with the Georgia Baptist Mission Board and requires employees to be committed Christians.
