Minimum of Five to 7 years in progressive accounting related experience, plus at least two years of experience in a similar capacity as assistant director or controller is preferred. Experience in Hotel/Club environment is a plus.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education
High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

COMPENSATION

POSITION PURPOSE
Assists and supports the Director of Finance in the achievement of The California Club’s goals and the maintenance of adequate internal controls over all areas of Club operations. Ensure timely completion of all reports generated by accounting staff. Enforces the maintenance of Club policies and procedures as they apply to the Club operation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
o Provides guidance and supervision to all accounting employees. Recommends and provides necessary training for specific tasks to Accounting Staff.
o Prepares month end closing and posts all journal entries.
o Prepares month end labor Report.
o Prepares all subsidiaries on the balance sheet.
o Prepares and processes all member monthly ACH payments.
o Prepares daily operational reports.
o Relief payroll processing for a minimum of four times annually.
o Manages members’ credits and adjustments and answers all emails to the accounting in box.
o Submit change orders to the bank.
o Prepares and orders office supplies.
o Prepare all funding reports and make deposits to the bank.
o Prepares audit schedules and coordinates with external and internal auditors in the completion of their field work. Assists the Director of Finance in the completion and implementation of all audit recommendations.
o Initiates banking payments and is the second approval on the bank account.
o Conducts monthly inventories at the direction of the Director of Finance.
o Works in coordination with the Director of Membership to ensure proper controls of Membership data files and proper billing based on categories.
o Maintain Licenses and permits for the Club, file the returns, and ensure timely payments.
o Prepares and file taxes for Occupancy, Parking and Sales and Use.
o Prepare reporting for 990 tax return for member and non-member revenue.
o Responsible for Private Party Forms to ensure compliance with IRS tax filing.
o Prepares 60-day 90-day reports.
