[What the role is] If you enjoy research, project management, working with data and learning more about various artefacts and artworks in our National Collection (NC), we have an opening which will give you the opportunity to facilitate digital access and enhance engagement of the NC via digital means. [What you will be working on] [Metadata & Cataloguing] Catalogue and manage heritage and cultural artefact digital records and resources using best practices and industry standards. [Vocabularies & Taxonomies, Information Organisation] Develop and maintain controlled vocabularies and taxonomies for cataloguing and resource discovery purposes. Assist in driving projects related to metadata, management systems and/or conceptual frameworks. Work with vendors, collaborators, and/or stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of projects. Collaborate with teammates, colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure digital assets and collections are effectively organised and discoverable, leveraging technology if needed. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to the management of digital heritage and cultural artefacts and resources. Plan and conduct outreach sessions to enhance heritage cataloguing awareness and capabilities. This includes coordinating targeted workshops, facilitating community of practice sessions, and developing knowledge-sharing initiatives that support professional development and best practice exchange among heritage practitioners. Co-lead in a community outreach project using the National Collection on Roots.sg. [What we are looking for] Background in Social Science and Humanities, with a strong interest in information organisation, ontologies, and art, history and culture of Singapore and Southeast Asia. Preferably a minimum of 2 years’ experience in data management, collections management systems or Gen AI but applicants without experience are welcome to apply. Excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage and negotiate with vendors, stakeholders and collaborators with excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to grasp conceptual ideas quickly. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with an understanding of broader implications. Proficiency in digital asset management and metadata standards is advantageous.
