A leading tube & pipe manufacturing organisation is looking for an experienced Incharge – Quality to lead its quality operations at a large-scale manufacturing facility.

Role Overview You will manage and maintain the Quality Management System across the full manufacturing cycle — from incoming raw material through production to final despatch — for a facility covering tube mills, galvanizing, and finishing lines. You will lead a multi-functional quality team of (QC inspectors, NDT Supervisor, Lab Operations Engineer, and junior staff), driving inspection excellence, NDT and laboratory operations, non-conformance management, and customer quality resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and implement the QMS in line with ISO 9001 and applicable product certification standards (including API, EN, and ASTM product/material certification schemes)
  • Manage certification audit cycles — documentation preparation, coordination with accreditation bodies, hosting auditors, and closure of audit findings
  • Oversee incoming, in-process, and final product inspection, including dimensional checks, hydrostatic testing, visual inspection, and NDT (UT, MT, PT, RT)
  • Manage laboratory operations — mechanical, chemical, and metallurgical testing, along with equipment calibration and metrology compliance
  • Lead non-conformance and CAPA management using structured root-cause tools (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa)
  • Handle customer quality complaints, audits, and structured corrective action responses
  • Prepare quality performance reporting (rejection rates, first-pass yield, complaint ppm, CAPA and calibration status)
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team spanning inspection, NDT, and laboratory functions

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field
  2. 7–10 years of quality management experience in steel, tube/pipe, galvanizing, or heavy manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a supervisory/in-charge capacity
  3. Strong hands-on exposure to ISO 9001 QMS implementation and management of certification/audit cycles (API, EN, ASTM, or equivalent product certification schemes)
  4. Working knowledge of NDT methods and laboratory testing for tube and pipe products
  5. ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditor certification, CSWIP or equivalent NDT qualification (Level 2+), and Six Sigma Green Belt are an advantage
  6. Strong documentation discipline, root-cause analysis skills, and confident decision-making under production pressure
  7. Good communication skills to engage shop floor teams, management, customers, and auditors
