Job Description Job Title: Concrete Technologist Location: Chandigarh Experience : 7+ years in concrete testing, mix design, or construction materials Industry: Construction Chemicals / Concrete Technology / Underground Construction / Ready-Mix Concrete Objective of the Role To lead concrete mix design development, quality control, and technical support activities to ensure optimal performance, durability, and compliance with industry standards while supporting project execution and customer satisfaction. Job Responsibility / KRA KRA 1: Concrete Mix Design & Optimization Develop and optimize concrete and shotcrete mix designs as per project requirements. Evaluate new raw materials, admixtures, and supplementary cementitious materials. Ensure performance targets for strength, durability, and workability are achieved. KRA 2: Quality Control & Testing Conduct laboratory and site testing (slump, compressive strength, air content, durability tests). Ensure compliance with ASTM / IS / EN / ACI standards. Monitor batching plant operations and raw material quality. KRA 3: Technical Support & Troubleshooting Provide on-site technical support during concrete placement and shotcreting operations. Investigate concrete performance issues and implement corrective measures. Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and clients for technical solutions. KRA 4: Reporting & Documentation Prepare technical reports, mix design documentation, and quality records. Maintain test data and ensure audit readiness. Support internal and external technical audits. KRA 5: Training & Continuous Improvement Train plant and site personnel on best concrete practices. Support R&D initiatives for sustainable and high-performance concrete solutions. Competencies Knowledge Advanced knowledge of concrete technology, hydration chemistry, and durability principles Understanding of admixtures, shotcrete technology, and underground construction practices Familiarity with ASTM / IS / EN standards Skills Concrete mix design and optimization Laboratory testing and data analysis MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, reporting tools Technical presentation and client interaction Abilities Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Effective communication and coordination ability Ability to work under site conditions and tight project timelines Special Working Conditions :- Extensive travel to project sites, batching plants, and customer locations. Frequent visits to remote areas, including underground/tunnel projects. Strict adherence to safety protocols and use of PPE at site locations.
