We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Service Manager who possesses strong mechanical skills, a solid understanding of parts operations, and a proactive approach to managing daily service activities. Key Responsibilities: - Assist the Service Manager in overseeing daily shop operations and ensuring efficient workflow - Support technicians on job sites, helping to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues - Coordinate and prioritize service jobs to ensure timely completion and customer satisfaction - Manage parts inventory, ordering, and stocking to support service operations - Facilitate communication between technicians, parts department, and customers - Help with job scheduling, documentation, and maintaining service records - Ensure compliance with safety standards and dealership policies - Contribute to a positive team environment and promote a culture of continuous improvement Skills and Qualifications: - Proven experience in heavy-duty truck service, repair, or maintenance - Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills - Knowledge of parts operations and inventory management - Familiarity with CDK or similar dealership management software (a significant plus) - Certifications from Cummins or other relevant industry certifications are advantageous - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities - Valid driver’s license and clean driving record We offer a competitive benefits package including health and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan, and opportunities for professional growth.
