This role helps to foster self-reliance, care for the poor and the needy, and provide opportunities for giving and service by: helping members become economically and emotionally self-reliant; providing access to essential food and clothing items, helping members prepare for and respond to disasters; and providing humanitarian aid to relieve suffering; thus furthering the mission of the Church. This position exists to provide operational processing, retail, and development management expertise of the day-to-day operations of a Deseret Industries Store. The incumbent will provide daily support to all store staff including the store manager. This support may include: conflict resolution, customer service, coordination of all retail and processing operations, development services, handling of store monies, staff and associate training, and ensuring that the mission and purpose of DI is being met. Customers include: Church leaders, associates, job coach trainers, store manager, store patrons, donors, volunteers, and missionaries. Customers can expect a professional and compassionate interaction with an Assistant Store Manager. They will be able to handle all matters that arise in a store with tact, skill, and honesty.
