Description Summary: The AST Intern is primarily responsible for supporting projects and company initiatives related to field service and automation solutions. This individual works closely with our Field Service Engineers, Automation Specialists, and technical teams to assist with hands-on equipment work, customer training, and service calls. The AST Intern will work closely with an assigned mentor and have the opportunity to shadow roles throughout the company, participate in community impact initiatives, and visit different branch locations. This individual expresses behavior that supports our company culture (5 P’s) and our purpose: to create lasting value to those we serve. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Hands On Equipment Work: Assist with equipment setup, troubleshooting, and basic programming tasks under supervision. Customer Training Support: Participate in customer classes, observe and assist in teaching introductory sessions and help answer questions. Service Call Participation: Accompany field service technicians on customer site visits to gain exposure to real-world applications and problem-solving. Technical Development: Learn to interpret electrical drawings, MCC layouts, and standards; assist with programming tasks. Task Execution – Perform assigned tasks as directed.
