Job Description
Trusted Space is seeking an Astronomy Computer Vision Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree or higher with 4+ years of experience to help build the next generation of battlespace awareness capabilities. You will work alongside a small dynamic team of aerospace and software engineers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing algorithms for tasks like image segmentation, object tracking, and anomaly detection in astronomical images and data
  • Processing, analyzing, and labeling large datasets from telescopes and other astronomical instruments
  • Generating realistic simulated data for model training

Keeping up with the latest advancements in computer vision and machine learning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Imaging Science, Astrophysics, Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in Astronomy Computer Vision
  • Strong Proficiency in Python, C++, or other relevant languages
  • Experience with ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn
  • Experience building and designing novel multi-task neural network architectures
  • Experience with data analysis tools and techniques to convey complex results
  • Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and linear algebra
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems related to astronomical data analysis
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences

Desired Skills

  • 6+ years of experience
  • Master’s or PhD degree in Imaging Science, Astrophysics, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience developing image processing for spacecraft, missile, aircraft, hypersonic glide vehicle, and/or drone detection
  • Experience with modern ML training libraries such as MLflow, and RayTune
  • Experience with modern offline data labeling techniques
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or eligibility to obtain one

Salary Range: The salary range for this role is $120,000-$200,000. Please note that this range is a general guideline and can vary.
