POSITION SUMMARY:

Community Care Alliance is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Admissions Coordinator to join our Acute Stabilization Unit (ASU) in Providence, Rhode Island. This role is essential in facilitating timely and clinically appropriate admissions for individuals in crisis. As the first point of contact for incoming referrals, the Admissions Coordinator ensures a smooth and supportive transition into care, aligned with our mission to empower people to build better lives.

EDUCATION AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, social services, or related field preferred and compensated accordingly
  • CNA, Medical Technician, or Medical Assistant certifications preferred and compensated accordingly
  • Multilingual preferred and compensated accordingly

Responsibilities
  • Receive and screen referrals sent by outside providers via fax for admission eligibility and clinical appropriateness
  • Conduct initial phone and in-person screenings for individuals seeking crisis stabilization services
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to determine level of care and admission readiness
  • Verify insurance coverage and coordinate financial agreements
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inquiries, assessments, and admissions
  • Ensure bed availability and staffing alignment with nursing and operations teams
  • Monitor census trends to support optimal occupancy
  • Reduce reliance on temp agency and per diem nursing through strategic admission planning
  • Foster relationships with hospitals, clinics, and community referral sources
  • Support outreach and marketing efforts to enhance visibility and increase referrals
  • Other duties as assigned
