Leading on the coordination and delivery of soil and land use assessments as part of Environmental Impact Assessments of a wide range of projects Coordinating and leading soil and Agricultural Land Classification surveys Undertaking your own work to an excellent standard, and reviewing the work of others Working in partnership with other members of the Soils Team as well as the Impact Assessment Team and members of related discipline teams across the UK Proactively managing selected projects or components of projects, taking responsibility for resource allocation, managing subcontractors and quality assurance Lead and support tender proposal/ bids - working as part of a project winning team Providing soils and land use advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues Engaging with consultees and stakeholders Developing outstanding reports - an ability to summarise and explain outcomes to non-technical audiences will be critical for this Managing projects, overseeing our performance on technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety Experienced soil consultant/scientist with experience of Environmental Impact Assessment, preferably within a consultancy environment or with experience of multi-disciplinary working and broad sector experience. Experience of soil surveying, ideally including knowledge and experience of the Agricultural Land Classification system. Member of the British Society of Soil Science and Chartered/working towards chartership with an accredited Institution. Good knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment and the planning process in relation to soils and land use Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills with experience in reviewing the work of others to ensure quality Experience in multi-disciplinary working, with good project management and technical skills Experience in consulting and negotiating with planning authorities, regulators and stakeholders Commercial expertise, including forecasting, project management and quality assurance A valid UK driving license Desired: Knowledge and application experience of carbon accounting in relation to soils and land use
