About the Role
We are seeking a passionate Atelierista to inspire creativity, artistic exploration, and sensory-rich learning experiences for children. This role is perfect for someone who is deeply committed to artistic expression, child-led creativity, and collaborative learning. As an Atelierista, you will work alongside educators, children, and families to cultivate an environment where curiosity, experimentation, and imagination flourish.
What We’re Looking For
- A strong understanding of the Reggio Emilia approach and the role of the Atelier
- A background in fine arts, design, or a related creative discipline
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting
- A Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years Education (or equivalent) is desirable
- A passion for multi-modal expression, materials exploration, and hands-on learning
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- A commitment to co-researching with children and educators
- Enthusiasm for outdoor learning, creative risk-taking, and interdisciplinary projects
Key Responsibilities
- Create and lead artistic experiences that encourage self-expression and discovery
- Curate and maintain the Atelier, ensuring materials are accessible and inspiring
- Collaborate with educators to integrate creativity into all aspects of the curriculum
- Document children’s creative processes, making learning visible
- Support long-term projects, fostering deep exploration of ideas and materials
- Encourage experimentation, guiding children in using a wide variety of artistic media
- Engage families and the community in the creative life of the nursery
- Champion a culture of inquiry and artistic innovation
