The minimum time commitment includes potential weekday practice times after 3:00 p.m. and all matches. Weekends included as the schedule demands. The season runs from March through June each year. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Creating a positive environment that promotes good sportsmanship towards opponents, spectators, and teammates - Assist with instruction of players in rules, regulations, skills, and strategy of tennis - Collaborate with the Head Varsity coach to create organized and effective practices that progress throughout the season - Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities - Provide effective supervision and evaluation of all athletes during practice and competition - Tracking student-athlete progress - Follow established protocol in the event of an injury - Participate in special activities to include parents’ night, banquets, and award ceremonies - Participate as a positive team member in the development and support of excellence within the Athletic Department Requirements Candidates will be required to demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication skills with students, and other coaches. Strong candidates will have a thorough understanding of the skills and techniques of tennis. Candidates should support the mission of SPA and be able to support/contribute to student-athlete life outside athletics.
