St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Secondary School is committed to creating an inclusive environment where every student can excel academically, socially, and emotionally. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Resource Coordinator to ensure that our school’s learning resource program meets the needs of our student body. The position is full-time for a one-year term with the possibility of renewal.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview
The Athletic Director oversees all aspects of the school’s athletic program. This includes managing interscholastic sports, coordinating teams and coaches, ensuring compliance with league regulations, promoting student participation, and fostering a positive athletic culture rooted in sportsmanship, integrity, and school pride. The Athletic Director position will be supplemented with teaching responsibilities to equate to a full-time teaching position. The term is for one year, with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction for all school athletic programs (junior and senior levels).
Recruit, support, and supervise coaches for all school sports teams.
Coordinate athletic schedules, bookings, transportation, and officiating.
Oversee athletic budgets, uniforms, and equipment needs.
Ensure compliance with league rules, safety standards, and school policies.
Promote student involvement in athletics and support student-athletes’ well-being.
Collaborate with administration, staff, and parents to enhance the athletic experience.
Organize seasonal athletic banquets and recognition events.
Serve as the school’s representative to athletic associations and leagues.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or related field (Master’s degree an asset).
Coaching certification is preferred but not required.
Previous experience in coaching and/or athletic administration at the high school level.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
A passion for youth development and school athletics.
Commitment to the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic-athletic balance.
Additional Assets
Experience with athletic scheduling software or management platforms.
First Aid/CPR and NCCP coaching certifications.
Familiarity with our local school sports leagues and regulations.
