Job Title: Athletic Trainer 2 Department: Ambulatory Services | Sports Medicine Administration This position is responsible for providing outreach athletic training and duties as assigned. OSU Sports Medicine is a multi-disciplinary outpatient program that provides health care for athletes and physically active people of all abilities. OSU Sports Medicine services include physician services, physical therapy, athletic training, education and research programs and community outreach programs. Primary responsibilities include outreach activities consisting of event and practice coverage, preventative practice, athletic training room coverage, educational involvement and other duties related to coverage for college, high school, recreational or club sports. This position may be responsible for provision of components of physical therapy treatment plans while working under the direct supervision of the treating physical therapist. This position may also serve as a physician extender in the physician clinics, coordinating patient flow and supporting the physicians as directed to ensure timely delivery of quality care. This position may supervise supportive clinical personnel (i.e.: aides, students), participate in a teaching capacity, and assist with administrative procedures. The Athletic Trainer will work within their scope of practice as outlined by the Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board of the State of Ohio. The position will be compliant with medical center, sports medicine, and outreach policies and guidelines Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Level Degree Required Qualifications Completion of an approved education program in athletic training and/or related health science field, State of Ohio Athletic Trainer license, and BOC certification (Board of Certification). Two to three years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic/sports medicine facility preferred. Previous experience working with athletic populations is required. Proficient in computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office, word, excel and PowerPoint.
