Description Who we are: The Jordan-Young Institute, an Aligned Orthopedic Partners Company, is a prominent multi-subspecialty orthopedic and spine private practice in Virginia Beach, Virginia seeking a full-time Certified Athletic Trainer. Jordan-Young Institute is recruiting for an experienced, highly organized, Athletic Trainer. Services include orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and physical therapy. The Athletic Trainer will work directly with the physicians, patients, and physician assistants. The ability to multi-task is critical for success in the role. What you will do: Screen and prepare patient for medical providers. Provides instruction concerning and demonstrates proper use of equipment. Evaluate and document patient history with physician oversight Assist in education of patient injuries and disorders Help with patient coordination and education on physical therapy and/or home exercise programs Prep chart for clinic Answers phones and schedules appointments Greets patients, completion of registration forms, and gives instructions Complete FMLA and disability paperwork Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments Assist medical providers during patient examinations and treatment Handle telephone calls from clients, pharmacy, laboratory, Attorneys and physicians Participate in tracking outside referrals Maintain inventory supplies and order as appropriate Phlebotomy Assist with maintenance of equipment, supplies, and treatment rooms Review treatment instructions, directions for outside referrals, and follow-up care Other duties as assigned (This is not an inclusive list of duties) We’d love to hear from you if you: NATABOC Certification and eligibility for Virginia licensure. Virginia license required at date of employment. Professional rescuer CPR/AED Certification Demonstrated experience in high school, intercollegiate athletics, and/or previous experience in clinical settings, particularly in injury prevention and rehabilitation.
