Description Who We Are: Jordan-Young Institute is recruiting for an experienced, highly organized, Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). The ATC will play an integral role in the daily operations of a face-paced and high demanding medical practice specializing in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. Serving as a key member of the care team, the ATC will provide both clinical and administrative support. What you will do: Screen and prepare patient for medical providers. Evaluate and document patient history with physician oversight Assist in education of patient injuries and disorders Assist medical providers during patient examinations and treatment Help with patient coordination and education on physical therapy and/or home exercise programs Review treatment instructions, directions for outside referrals, and follow-up care Coordinates diagnostic tests (x-ray, MRI) under physician orders. Liaison between physician and outside physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers and other allied health members Schedule shadowing opportunities and advisory meetings with local medical students Assist medical assistants and secretary with office tasks as see fit Tracking and organizing physician travel for orthopedic courses and meetings Assisting in the operating room in a non-surgical capacity (pre-sterile prep, sling and brace fitting post procedure, etc.) on an as needed basis Other duties as assigned We’d love to hear from you if you: Master’s Degree in Athletic Training NATABOC Certification and eligibility for Virginia licensure. Virginia license required at date of employment.
