Description The Athletic Trainer assists the Head Athletic Trainer in supporting the day-to-day athletic training needs for the First Team. The Athletic Trainer provides injury prevention strategies, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation for players’ medical problems. The Athletic Trainer will work closely with the Team’s Technical Staff and Head Athletic Trainer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs as Certified Athletic Trainer in managing the health care of players. Health care includes but is not limited to: first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities, developing rehabilitation and prevention programs, as well as conducting rehabilitation and making medical referrals. Help maintain a complete and current roster of player health and participation records in League-provided electronic medical record system. Order, maintain and inventory supplies and clinical equipment. Keep athletic training room and clinic area safe, clean and organized. Comply with all League medical policies and protocols. Comply with OSHA Standards with regards to bloodborne pathogens. Provide medical assistance to other IMCF teams as needed. Travel with First Team to provide coverage. Perform other duties as assigned or required. Requirements Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in health-related field preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the field of sports medicine. Medical soccer experience preferred (exception may be granted for experience in other professional sports). NATABOC (or CATA) Certified Athletic Trainer. In good standing with NATABOC and a member of the NATA (or CATA). Licensed to practice in the State of Florida. Current professional CPR certification. Possess personal professional liability insurance. Enthusiastic and energetic team player. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Possesses a strong work ethic and friendly demeanor. Knowledge of MLS and international soccer. Possess exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize/multi-task. Bilingual (English and Spanish) fluency preferred. Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to work extended hours and weekends and holidays when required. Licenses or Certifications: NATABOC (or CATA) Certified Athletic Trainer. In good standing with NATABOC and a member of the NATA (or CATA). Licensed to practice in the State of Florida. Current professional CPR certification. Possess personal professional liability insurance.
